The 4-H Chili Cook-Off is a youth chili competition and 4-H program fundraiser. Youth participants showcase their culinary skills and engage with our community with this fun and tasty 4-H event.

Coming March 8, 2024

4-H youth enrolled in the chick chain project raise pullets from April through August. The poultry show and sale is the culmination of the project with youth exhibiting their pullets competing for the Bill Brookshire Poultry Champion Award.

Youth participants can exhibit their horse in a variety of classes and gain show experience.

Third and fourth grade youth across Johnson County have the opportunity to participate in this annual field trip where they visit a local farm to learn about agriculture and farm safety.

Held annually in August, the Appalachian Fair provides opportunities for youth to showcase their project work, talents as well as their livestock. Area youth can enter exhibits for display in the 4-H building earning premiums for winning projects. Livestock shows and bread baking demonstrations are held throughout the week.
